The best time to visit St. Croix
St. Croix is warm year-round — daytime temperatures sit broadly in the 80s Fahrenheit whenever you come. What changes is rain, wind, crowds and price.
High season: mid-December to mid-April
Driest, least humid, steadiest trade winds. Also the most expensive and the most booked, particularly Christmas through New Year and the weeks around Easter. If you want Christmas or New Year on the island, book it months out — those weeks sell first and sell completely.
Shoulder: May to early June
Our pick. The winter crowds have gone, rates soften, the sea is warm and calm, and the serious storm risk has not started. Visibility for diving is often excellent. If your dates are flexible, look here first.
Low season: mid-June to November
Hotter, more humid, more afternoon rain, and the Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking mid-August through October. Rates drop accordingly. Plenty of people visit in this window and have a perfect week — but buy travel insurance, watch forecasts, and be honest with yourself about how much a disrupted trip would cost you.
September and October are the quietest and cheapest months, and some businesses close for part of them.
Late November to mid-December
An underrated stretch. Storm season is over, the island is green from the rains, high-season pricing has not fully kicked in, and it is quiet. If you want good weather without the December premium, this is the window.

Booking notes
Christmas, New Year and the Easter weeks behave differently from the rest of the calendar — they sell out early and rarely discount. Everything else has more give.
